For the fourth time since its inception, Dead Stock, the grass-roots organization of Dallas sneakerheads, will be hosting its annual Kixpo Convention this August. Spanning over two days (August 14 and 15), the expo will be comprised of three different sneak-sational (too much?) events: the Meet-N-Greet at Index Skateboard Supply featuring free eats, drinks and giveaways; the official Pre-Party at the House of Blues; and then the convention itself at Lofty Spaces.
The convention isn’t all about the shoes, however. Dead Stock is proud to support and showcase progress in fashion, music, art, and forward thinking. Keeping with that, they drop a mixtape each year in tandem with the convention featuring local rap and hip-hop artists. And 2010’s got posted on the Kixpo 2010 site this past Wednesday. And it’s jam-packed.
KBFB-97.9 FM The Beat’s Headkrack hosts the compilation and kicks it off with Throwed‘s collab with Six 2 and Yung Loft, entitled “Spokes & Leather.” In addition, DOMAXXII nominee for “Best Rap/Hip-Hop Act” A.Dd+ makes an appearance with their track “Howdy Do.” Blofly, Rolling Rockers, Blaze Won and a bunch others fill out the free digital download.
