Really can’t say I know too much about the Southern Entertainment Awards–well, not much other than that the site hasn’t updated its main page since 2007. But the site has updated its voting page more recently–today, in fact, since this marks the start of the voting process in its sixth annual southern hip-hop awards.
As for the nominees? It’s mostly inside baseball, boasting names unfamiliar to even the most prudent hip-hop observers. But a couple locals do pop up in the voting:
- Definition DJs, the 70-employee, two-state DJ outfit run by DJ Drop (the man who brought the D-Town Boogie to area clubs) is up for DJ Crew of the Year
- DJ Drop and Tum Tum‘s collaboration, The Definition of a ZillaNaire, is up for Best Rap Mix of the Year.
You can vote for them here.
