Baboon strikes at the jugular.
Here’s some make-your-day news: Baboon just sent out a Myspace bulletin alerting fans to the fact that it has digitized the cassette recordings of its first-ever release, 1992’s ed Lobster. And, even better, the band’s giving the raw, punk-influenced 8-track cassette-recorded album (on which Centro-matic‘s Will Johnson played drums) away as a free download.
Note: It’s not wholly complete. The ed Lobster version of the final track, “Fan In My Car,” is lost, so the guys replaced it in this download pakage with the version from the band’s second cassette, Sausage.
Uh, either way: Score! —Pete Freedman
