Worlds Apart gets Austin noise-rock act …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead pretty close to its prog-rock apotheosis, with strings, horns, a kids choir and more than one chamber-music interlude. But onstage the band remains a potent group of pissed-off punks. Recent shows have included deafening volume levels, spirited set-climbing and more than one free-feedback interlude. Still, you have to wonder which side of the band’s sound will crack first. Will they lose the ability to replicate complex math-metal passages with junked instruments, or get bored with studios too pricey to trash? The Octopus Project, The Black and The Sword are openers.
