Flower Mound is getting a new chef-driven, locally focused restaurant this week. Twelve Stones Restaurant, New American Cuisine, is set to open today at 1221 Flower Mound Road at the Pines of Flower Mound.
Chef David Burdick left a two-decade career in IT to work over fire. His résumé includes stints at Suze and Dragonfly, and now he’s ready to branch out on his own. Burdick hired local firm Hatsumi Kuzuu, which is also responsible for FT-33, The LOT and Sissy’s, to create a “refined, industrial farm space” in the restaurant.
The menu includes standard protein dishes like beef tenderloin surf and turf, bone-in pork chop, roasted chicken breast, salmon, red snapper and sea scallops. There’s a butcher’s block that ranges from a 5-ounce filet to a 20-ounce bone-in ribeye. “Enhancements” include creamed corn, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and yellow squash casserole.
The black pepper cheesecake on the dessert menu is a black pepper-infused cheesecake with an Oreo crust, with candied peppers and smoked jalapeño raspberry sauce. Mom’s Bread Pudding comes with candied bacon and maple coffee ice cream. They also have a full-service bar along with craft beer and wine.
