Travel + Leisure readers recently voted on their favorite foodie cities in America. Dallas clocked in at number 32, ahead of only Orlando, Vegas and Anchorage and behind San Antonio (10), Austin (15) and Houston (24), and more or less every other city of note. According to Travel + Leisure:

Even though the Tex-Mex, barbecue, and steak-friendly cuisine in Big D is fairly similar to what you’d find in higher-ranked Austin and San Antonio, voters were more interested in Dallas’s shopping (blame that Neiman-Marcus flagship). For up-and-coming cuisine, local foodies are tending toward street tacos and new spots in the Uptown/McKinney Avenue area. Your meal will be, at the very least, more interesting than the local people-watching, which ranked last in the survey.

Fair enough, T+L. Dallas has a lot of great food, but it obvious can’t contend with a top ten list that boasts New York City, San Francisco and top-ranked New Orleans. Is it better than Vegas (34) and Anchorage (35)? Worse than Kansas City and Philly and Phoenix? Who knows. Who cares. Just go eat. If foodies don’t flock here, it’s more for me and you.
