Mid-week date nights are a staple in our romantic relationships. The dates themselves don’t necessarily have to be romantic, but it’s a happy occasion when date night and romance actually do intersect.

Starting tonight and continuing on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays through February, the very romantic French Room at the Hotel Adolphus is offering a $50 three-course “Date Night” menu, along with a three-course a la carte menu and a slew of other options.

Along with the usual Amuse and pre-dessert goodies, a date night on executive chef Jason Weaver’s watch includes Mediterranean daurade, lobster risotto, herb seared Dominion Farms chicken and popcorn pot du crème.

The French Room’s legendary murals, arches and chandeliers–once described by the New York Times as “a Louis XV fantasy on the prairie”–are a bit more sumptuous than our usual date night atmosphere (ahem, formica and linoleum). But that’s okay, because the French Room’s date menu price doesn’t reflect the sudden upgrade in surroundings or dinner.
