The Dallas-based frozen yogurt chain Red Mango recently opened its 100th nationwide store. To celebrate, the McKinney Avenue location and other participating stores throughout the country will be offering free Red Mango flavored lip balms and $1 Ghirardelli chocolate yogurt to the first 100 customers on Saturday, January 22.
Since moving from its original base of California to a more centralized location, the company has been growing steadily throughout the country by constantly reinventing its image and concept. Once seen as just another contender in the yogurt fad, Red Mango took steps to set themselves apart by re-branding as a healthy alternative to fast food. In an attempt to maintain its relevancy and independence from the rest of the competition, the company added self-serve locations to the brand as well as introducing meal-like smoothies and parfaits.
Whatever Red Mango has been doing, the company believes it’s been working well enough, as the it plans on doubling its number of stores in 2011.
