The group of Oak Cliffers that’s been busily remodeling the former Vitto’s space today revealed just what’s in store for the space at 316 W. 7th Street at Bishop Avenue.
Aliza Shier, who previously handled pastry duties at Local, will serve as executive chef of Oddfellows. According to the release from Amy Cowan — one of nine founding partners — Shier’s a self-taught cook who’s never before been an executive chef.
“While spending several months in France, (Shier) fell in love with food in ways she had yet to experience while growing up in Dallas,” Cowan writes.
Oddfellows will open for breakfast and lunch in November. Dinner service will be added later in the winter.

And what’s on the menu? The release describes the cuisine as “traditional American food with a concentration on fresh, local ingredients.” (Which makes it sound like there might omelets in the morning and burgers in the afternoon.)
In good Oak Cliff fashion, Cowan adds: “A mantra of “Food for All” has guided the group as they seek to create a space that is welcoming and offers quality food in an approachable manner.”
