Last year taco blogger José Ralat-Maldonado announced his plans to host a pretty sizable taco party. This morning he released more details about the event, and things are starting to look good.
Taquerias serving up tacos at the event include El Tizoncito, Velvet Taco, Rusty Taco, Revolver Taco Lounge, Chile Pepper Grill, Taco Party, Urban Taco, and La Nueva Fresh & Hot. According to the release, they’ll be dishin everything from traditional tacos de trompo and tacos de cabeza al vapor to fancy gringo tacos.
There’s also an old fashioned taco throw-down planned. Brian Luscher from The Grape and Restaurant Ava’s Randall Copeland will join three more yet-to-be-named chefs to see who can make the tastiest taco.
The North Texas Taco Festival will be held Saturday, April 20, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., on the 2800 block of Main Street between Malcolm X Boulevard and Crowdus Street. The best part? The event is free.
