Exciting news from the T-Gubbins Party Line. Jeana Johnson and Colleen O’Hare have bought the old Watel’s spot, which used to be York Street.
York Street broke hearts when it closed back in 2010. For 10 years, Sharon Hage created a quaint East Dallas restaurant that became a landmark in the Dallas dining scene. After York Street closed, Watel’s Bistro occupied the spot, but it closed just this month.
Johnson and O’Hare both have gold-star careers in the Dallas dining scene. Together, their lineup includes: Ciudad, Daddy Jack’s, The Green Room, Star Canyon, Hibiscus, The Green Spot, York Street, Good 2 Go Taco, GoodFriend and Acme F&B.
