Dallas’ Most Interesting Restaurants No. 30: Remedy

Leading up to our annual Best of Dallas® issue, we’re counting down the 50 most interesting restaurants in Dallas. These spots bring something unique or compelling to the city’s dining scene, feeding both your appetite and soul. 

This Greenville Avenue newcomer has so many cures it’s clear the restaurant takes its old-school apothecary roots seriously. Remedy is more than just a soda fountain; it’s a restaurant filled with comfort food that will soothe as much as it sates. The menu boasts grilled cheese, a burger that oozes with slices of American and a dressed up pork chop that would look at home on your dinner table.

Remedy can cure that sweet tooth, too. Start with their coconut cream pie that’s made from actual coconuts, and follow it up with pretty much any other pie that is on the menu. New options come and go with the seasons, keeping your pie sesh fresh on the regular. Ice cream options are always changing, too, with seasonal flavors contributing to a monthly line of sundaes dedicated to local food personalities. 

Or, of course, as the name and decor suggest, you could just visit Remedy for a drink. You can get cocktails with booze, or if your weekend was particularly rough you can kick back with an egg cream, a fizzy soda or a float, which is more of a dessert, albeit a drinkable one.

Chef Danyele McPherson has created a restaurant that leaves a lasting impression, both on your mind, where it’s filed amongst pleasant childhood food memories, and on your waistline, where it’s realized forever. If you haven’t been within the last 30 days, you’re almost certainly missing out on something good.
