Chick-Fil-A, which has more outlets in Texas than any other state, has come under attack for allegedly partnering with an organization Advocate.com calls “Pennsylvania’s largest antigay, anti-marriage equality group.”
According to an Advocate report, Chick-Fil-A is sponsoring two Pennsylvania Family Institute events advertised as workshops to help “couples apply what the Bible teaches about marriage in a powerful way.” While no claims have been made regarding the content of the seminars, activists in the LGBT community say the chicken chain — famous for weekly shuttering its stores in observance of a Sunday sabbath — shouldn’t support a group fighting gay marriage.
Chick-Fil-A yesterday afternoon addressed the allegations on Twitter, writing “For those seeing reports of a CFA sponsorship w/ the Penn Family Inst, we are looking into the issue and will provide a response ASAP.” The restaurant’s feed has not been updated since.
Four Chick-Fil-A spokespeople did not return calls and e-mails seeking comment.

Frustration with Chick-Fil-A’s failure to respond quickly to questions is starting to simmer on Twitter and other social networks: “A day later and no report?,” @hrstump asked. “I can’t support a company that won’t support all people.”
