On Saturday, Calais Winery will launch its new wine-bottle recycling program with the first rendition of what will become semi-annual event.

From its rustic little shop on Commerce, the winery will accept empty bottles from any Texas winery. In exchange, generous winos will receive free tastings and bottle discounts. Six empty bottles get you a free tasting and 5 percent off bottle purchases. For 12 empties you’ll get a free tasting and 10 percent off. And for 24 bottles you’ll get a free tasting, 15 percent off, and maybe a sideways look or two.

Kidding! No one’s judging. You just drink too much, that’s all.

“The goal of the program is to help recycle bottles from local wineries, or our own, and we will donate as much as possible to a home-winemaker association,” winemaker and winery owner Benjamin Calais tells us.
