Remember TABC? It closed earlier this year when owner Russel Hayward left to open Ascension, the high-end coffee shop in the Design District.
The old TABC spot has remained dormant for months, but yesterday the space opened for the first time after a revitalization as Boxwood Tap and Grill. A news release about the new spot says Uptowners can expect a casual neighborhood bar and grill.
There isn’t a single dish mentioned, but customers should expect an ever-evolving selection of hearty bar fare served on their sizable patio, according the the news release. I think that’s PR speak for “We’re still working on the menu.”
After 11 p.m. the restaurant will serve cheese boards and other small plates until 1:30 a.m. to keep the drunks well-fed. The new spot will be open will be open 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily.
