August 14, Pecan Lodge Catering and Lockhart Smokehouse will hold a fundraiser to benefit the family of Lt. Shannon Stone, the 39-year-old Brownwood firefighter who died July 7 after falling from the outfield stands at a Texas Rangers game in Arlington.
There are $30 tickets are still available for the event, which will feature a barbecue dinner with smoked meats from both Pecan Lodge and Lockhart Smokehouse, plus burnt end pizzas from Il Cane Rosso’s Jay Jerrier.
Hold the phone– “Burnt end pizzas?” That shit sounds delicious. I asked Jerrier what exactly that entailed. He said, “It will be burnt ends, caramelized onions, Calabrian chiles, mozzarella. Probably called ‘Ring of Fire’ for its impact one hour after consumption. Will let you dip it in sauce — but not fucking ranch.”
Delicious confirmed.
When news happens, Dallas Observer is there —
Your support strengthens our coverage.
We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If the Dallas Observer matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.
The event will also feature a live auction, to which I’ll be donating a Lunch with Cheap Bastard. I’ll take you and two friends to some weirdo, cheapo lunch spot. It may not be glamorous, but it is for a good cause.
I will, indeed, cover the cost of food at whatever under-ten-dollar-lunch location we visit. Jerkass.
The event will take place August 14th, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Shed 2 of the Farmers Market on 1010 S. Pearl Expressway. Get your tickets here, meativores.
