Back in March, we told you the North Texas chapter of the Bartenders’ Guild was preparing to send a group of bartenders to Tales of the Cocktail, an annual convention hosted in New Orleans that draws industry professionals with interests in spirits and mixology. The group is sponsoring an event to showcase Dallas’ unique cocktail culture at the Hotel Monteleone as part of the convention.
While it took months to settle on a final list, the following bartenders will be headed to New Orleans to officially represent Dallas and Fort Worth.

The group hopes the event will shine new light on the Dallas cocktail trend and help define the specific qualities that make boozing here unique. This year more than 20,000 people from around the world are expected to attend the event, which started with just a handful of participants 10 years ago.

The Dallas focused event, “Come and Get It: Cocktails Texas Style,” will take place on the first day of the conference, July 25, at 10:30 a.m.. Those who think drinking before noon should be frowned upon probably won’t feel comfortable here. The five-day convention is an informative but drunken celebration of all things booze.
