It’s a good week for suburban boozin’.

Grapevine’s 25th annual GrapeFest begins this Thursday and lasts throughout the weekend. With Addison’s Oktober Fest covering the same days, we’re all being put in that awkward “choosing sides” predicament. But, something that might help in your decision-tree diagram is that admission is free to GrapeFest on Thursday and Friday.

In addition to the 33 Texas wineries participating in the event this year, there is a special focus on Australian wine and beer from Grapevine’s Sister Cities. Throughout the weekend there will also be cooking and wine-pairing demos in the culinary pavilion and a variety of musical acts on four different stages.

If you think you should have an official say in everything, then you can buy a ticket to be part of the People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic, which features 119 Texas wines and is the largest consumer judged wine competition in the country. You’ll also get a souvenir wine glass if you’re a judge.
