If you’re looking for one more reason why the Rolling Stones were better than the Beatles, consider 1964: The Tribute, a Beatles Tribute show, coming this week to Fort Worth. At a recent concert in Liverpool, 1964: The Tribute drew 35,000 fans, or close to twice the capacity of the American Airlines Center. Could you imagine a Rolling Stones tribute concert ever drawing that kind of crowd? Of course not. The Stones are basically impossible to duplicate. No group of second rate musicians could ever do a Stones song justice—the energy, passion and sex appeal of Mick, Keith, Charlie and Bill simply can’t be mimicked without crossing into the world of unintentional comedy. 1964: The Tribute comes to Bass Hall in Fort Worth at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. For more information, call 817-212-4280.
Fri., Aug. 3, 8 p.m.; Sat., Aug. 4, 8 p.m.
