Almost 40 food trucks have the city permits needed to roll around Dallas serving up tacos, banh mi and the like, so isn’t it about time some of the city’s best-known trucks square off to see who’s really the best mobile munchies provider? Enter Ten for 10: Water for Africa’s Food Truck SmackDown, in which Screen Door’s Squeals on Wheels, Nammi Truck and Gandolfo’s NY Deli compete with other food trucks for awards for best concept, food and overall best truck, all chosen by the crowd. Proceeds help Ten for 10’s efforts to bring clean water to Kicukiro, Rwanda. The food fighting runs from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday at Sunset Lounge, 3030 Ross Ave. Tickets are $75 and include three drink tickets and samples at all food trucks. VIP tickets, which cost $125, come with early entry and a preview, plus five drink tickets. Visit tenfor10.org.
