Forget about a visit with Santa this Christmas–dinosaurs are roaming the city! Besides, that fake beard and old man cologne scares the crap out of kids anyway. The Museum of Nature and Science invites families to spend the holidays with the ancient behemoths during Dinosaurs in December. The Dino Guide reveals all the locations inside the Museum of Nature and Science where dinosaurs are lurking. Enjoy the Dino Dig with hands-on hints for unearthing bones and fossils, and then stroll over to the IMAX Theater for Dinosaurs: Giants of the Patagonia. The film highlights the history, evolution and extinction of the dinosaurs. Don’t miss the chance to experience fantastic computer-generated footage of the Giganotosaurus and Argentinosaurus on the 79-foot domed screen. This documentary-style narrative, done in collaboration with some of the top scientists in the field, whisks you into the world of some of the largest known dinosaurs. Dinosaurs in December runs daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through December 31 at the Museum of Nature and Science, located at 1318 S. 2nd Ave. in Fair Park. Tickets are $6 to $9.50.
