Breaking into the local art scene can be a struggle. Where you’ve already shown and who your target market is will sometimes play as large of a role as the intention behind the piece itself. But exposing others to your message and how you’ve implemented that vision through your craft is so very key. Leave it to the artist-run studio, 500X Gallery to understand that.
There is one week left to submit work in the 500XPO 2012, a juried exhibition for Texas artists. All visual arts from painting to video will be considered and the $30 submission fee covers up to five images. Get information on submission details, fastening/hanging requirements, and learn about the Juror, Aaron Parazette, here. Ready to submit? Go here. Those who are accepted will be notified by 8 p.m. via email on February 2.
Good luck!
