Some of the best fairy tales I ever learned to read with my parents were fairy tales involving pigs, an old lady living in a giant shoe and, of course, the tale of two kids stumbling upon a house full of chocolate, sugar and an evil witch. Thanks to the Dallas Puppet Theater, the story of Hansel and Gretel comes to life with opera music and colorful puppets for fans of all ages. Performances take place through Sunday in the AT&T Auditorium at the Women’s Museum at 3800 Parry Ave. Showtimes are 11 a.m. Friday and Saturday, with matinees at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets range from $6 to $7. For more information, call 214-515-0004 or visit puppetry.org.
Fridays, Saturdays, 11 a.m.; Saturdays, Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Nov. 13. Continues through Nov. 22, 2009
