Why simply stroll from your office to your car when you can propel yourself through the air, using the buildings and bus stop benches around you as concrete trampolines? My Playground is a film that might inspire you to do just that, or, at the very least, to look at the buildings around you from a different perspective. You can catch a screening of the film, which explores the intersection between architecture and the art of Parkour – the practice of moving from one point to another as efficiently as possible using momentum to launch yourself off of the side of buildings and over everyday obstacles – at the Dallas Center for Architecture at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The movie follows parkour team JiYo as they work with architect Bjarke Ingels to explore his buildings from a uniquely physical perspective. The movie is preceded by a 6:00pm reception.
