The Tour de France is a bicycle race full of gruesome crashes as thousands of riders trek in and out of a mountain range for three weeks. We lose our breath just thinking about it. Compared to that professional cycling event, the Tour de Fleurs is a walk in the park. Since it starts at the Dallas Arboretum, 8525 Garland Road, it literally is a walk, or really a run, in the park featuring both a 10-kilometer and a 20-kilometer race. The event is free to spectators, $50 to $55 for racers. The races begin at 7:30 a.m. with a post-race party starting at 8:45 a.m. For more information or to register call 214-515-6500 or visit tourdesfleurs.org.
