After CBS pulled the plug on Good Times in 1979, Jimmie “J.J.” Walker returned to his roots on the stand-up club circuit. In the ’80s, he made guest appearances on TV shows like The Love Boat, Fantasy Island and The Fall Guy. For a while, his roles were limited to film spoofs like Plump Fiction, but lately he played a recurring character on Chris Rock’s Everybody Hates Chris. This Friday and Saturday, “J.J.” Walker’s bringing his comedy routine to Hyena’s Arlington, 2525 E. Arkansas Lane. For further details call 817-226-5233 or visit hyenascomedynightclub.com. I’ll bet he says “Dyn-O-Mite!” at least once.
