The Southern Methodist University’s Mustang Band’s Pigskin Revue musical variety show has been a SMU Homecoming tradition since 1933. This year’s show is titled Mustang Bandstand and features 20th-century popular music. You can imagine the type of entertainment as the big band and jazz music extends into pop hits from the ’60s. But from there things might get iffy until the late ’90s finale, when a dude-bro pulls his sweet Escalade onstage to accompany the band with his boomin’ bass system. Check it out 7:30 p.m. Friday at McFarlin Auditorium, 6405 Boaz Lane. Tickets are $15 for reserved seating or $10 for general admission. Call 214-SMU-BAND.
