Remember field day? It was the only time you were allowed to roam around outdoors at school (outside of recess or fire drills) and it was the one day kids waited for all year. If you were good at running around tied to your best friend, balancing an egg on a spoon or tugging as if it were war, you’d be rewarded with shiny ribbons. If not, well then you probably want to attend this month’s edition of Oral Fixation (An Obsession with True Life Tales). Producer Nicole Stewart has gathered up some of the best stories from Dallasites based on the theme “Have a Field Day,” so be prepared for the good, the bad and the goofy. Have your own field day as locals tell their tales at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kitchen Dog Theater, located at the McKinney Avenue Contemporary, 3120 McKinney Ave. in Uptown. Tickets are $10.
