If you heard a piece of theater described as “a film noir homage to a book author whose narrative intertwines the Hollywood machine, a detective story and real life” you’d shrug and say “that’s confusing.” But when the same plot comes to life on stage, as it does in the award-winning musical City of Angels, it becomes not only clear, but fascinating. Through the magic of great casting, costumes and production, this play clarifies the relationship of creator and creation in an entertaining play everyone can understand — and enjoy. Friday’s performance of City of Angels is at 8 p.m. at Theatre Three, 2800 Routh Street. Performances are Thursdays through Sundays, through July 13. Tickets are $10 to $50. For more information and additional showtimes, call 214-871-3300 or visit theatre3dallas.com.
Thursdays-Sundays. Starts: June 14. Continues through July 13, 2013
