As far as honeymoons go, taking a steam ship down the Nile sounds like quite the romantic plan. But in Agatha Christie’s play Murder on the Nile, the exotic trip of newlyweds Simon and Kay Mostyn quickly turns to murder, mayhem and red herrings when they discover Simon’s jilted ex is one of their fellow passengers. Simon had recently dumped his girlfriend so he could hook up with the much more attractive and wealthy Kay. But, in typical Christie fashion the cast’s closets are chock-full of skeletons. The play runs through September 13 at The Garland Civic Theatre, 108 N. 6th St. Performances are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2:30 p.m. Sundays and 7:30 p.m. Thursdays. Tickets range from $12 to $20. For exact prices and showtimes, call 972-485-8884 or visit garlandcivictheatre.org.
Thursdays, 7:30 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2:30 p.m. Starts: Aug. 21. Continues through Sept. 13, 2008
