The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra is bringing some beautiful romantic music to the last hot days of summer with a special late-August, pre-season festival. Over the course of three concerts in one weekend, the FWSO will present the iconic sounds of two of classical music’s great romantic composers: Johannes Brahms and Antonín Dvorák. The festival opens on Friday with guest violinist Augustin Hadelich joining the orchestra for a performance of Brahms’ sweeping violin concerto. Brahms’ concerto is bookended by two works by Dvorák – his Othello Overture and the always-popular Symphony No. 9 (commonly known as The New World Symphony). This romantic music will soar inside the equally romantic vaulted ceilings of Bass Hall (525 Commerce St., Fort Worth). Tickets range from $16 for upper gallery seats to $65 for the box tier.
