I am an idiot. At least one with tunnel vision. When I agreed to write about the upcoming International Gem and Jewelry Show, I only thought back to my geology class in college. I harked back to the days studying about quartz, feldspar and my personal favorite, muscovite. I loved that stuff. But then I realized that would have been a rock and mineral show. D’oh! I can see my professor’s look of dismay now. But I hear bangle bracelets are back with a vengeance. The International Gem and Jewelry Show will run Friday through Sunday at Dallas Market Hall, 2100 N. Stemmons Freeway. Hours are noon to 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $7. Visit intergem.net.
