We imagine that Judith Lea Perkins is especially proud of Empire of Belief, her current show at Kettle Art. Since she was one of the gallery’s co-founders back in 2005, it probably feels like a homecoming. Perkins, who also showcased work in Kettle’s successful 2007 exhibit Skulls Babes and Sparkly Guns, contrasts different styles, colors and textures on hand-carved block prints that result in unique print ensemble pieces that are thought-provoking but never too serious. Kind of like Kettle Art itself. The exhibit can be seen from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays through February 14 at Kettle Art, 2714 Elm St. Admission is free.
