The unfamiliar consider dance a scary thing anyway, so why not shake up expectations with a dance performance both original and modern, all the while ghoulishly delightful? That’s what Contemporary Ballet Dallas had in mind when it created Danse Macabre, a collection of themed performances from company dancers and guest performers, all in the holiday spirit. From a murder mystery to a piece set to Bach’s “Toccata and Fugue in D Minor,” CBD will spook and spellbind even the skeptics. Performances are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive in Richardson. Tickets are $15 to $35. Call 972-744-4650 or visit eisemanncenter.com.
Fri., Oct. 21, 8 p.m.; Sat., Oct. 22, 8 p.m., 2011
