The last time the British imported a satirical examination of the workplace, we were all smitten by Pam and Jim and the clueless Michael Scott. Bull, despite also being a British import that strips away the layers of corporate culture, will not impart any such warm and fuzzies. It’s cold, it’s Darwinian and it’s set in an office that looks an awful lot like a bullring. In this ring, white-collar workers corner a peer and pull out all the nasty, conniving stops to unnerve and unseat him in the face of an impending force reduction. In its tense 55 minutes, playwright Mike Bartlett’s workplace nightmare evokes all the same butterflies you’d expect when the boss summons you for a Friday afternoon “talk.” Second Thought Theatre performs the nailbiter as part of AT&T Performing Arts Center’s Elevator Project beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Wyly Studio Theatre (2400 Flora St.); the show continues through March 14 with performances nightly Thursdays through Mondays. Tickets are $20 at ticketdfw.com.
Mondays, Thursdays-Sundays, 8 p.m. Starts: Feb. 26. Continues through March 14, 2015
