Imagine if Dirty Dancing had a “slightly-less-dirty” but still totally cute, younger Australian cousin. Wait, don’t imagine that — just come on Saturday as the AT&T Performing Arts Center and Dallas Film Society pair up for another great Sunset Screening. Strictly Ballroom (1992, PG) is the tale of Scott Hastings, a renegade champion-level ballroom dancer who refuses to believe that there are “no new steps.” His unorthodox behavior causes his partner to storm away, setting the scene for a plucky young protégé in novice, Francis. Together, they vie for the Australian Pan Pacific Championship one unexpected step at a time. Sound a bit tame? Let’s up the ante by telling you that the outdoor screening location, Annette Strauss Square, is now totally BYOB. The free event starts at 8 p.m. at 2403 Flora St. Call 214-880-0202 or visit attpac.org.
