Imagine gazing at a surreal painting of an island, a field full of tulips or perhaps the endless waves of an ocean. Do you ever wish you were actually inside that painting? If only wishes came true, right? Super Nature, a new exhibition featuring Dallas’ own Douglas Leon Cartmel, collects several of his smooth seascape paintings rendered from real oceanic photographs. Cartmel has exhibited work in Texas, New York and California. His work has also recently been added to the permanent collection of the Dallas Museum of Art and his Coastlines exhibition is also being featured there. Super Nature continues from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays through June 12 at Marty Walker Gallery, 2135 Farrington St. For more information, call 214-749-0066 or visit martywalkergallery.com.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: May 8. Continues through June 12, 2010
