We’ll find just about any reason to enter a good 5K around here. We do it for the exercise and for a good cause, and sometimes we just really want a free T-shirt (we’re willing to bet that you’ve got a closet full of ’em by now). Well, if you join in the Second Annual North Texas Great Santa Run, you’ll definitely get the first two covered, but you’re going to be sorely disappointed if you’re expecting a tee. See, in addition to benefiting My Possibilities day program for adults, this particular run has another mission — to set the world record for largest Santa gathering — so you’ll forego the tee for a Santa suit, provided at registration. If you want to be a part of something big and jolly this season, join your fellow beard-wearing do-gooders at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Shops at Legacy, 7161 Bishop Road in Plano. Registration is $25 to $45, and includes a soon-to-be sweaty Santa suit. Visit santaruntexas.org.
