If you were alive in the ’80s, you know all about 9 to 5. And Jams, mesh shirts and White Rain, too, but that’s a whole other story. This particular story is about three working gals, their jerk alert boss and a file folder’s worth of revenge. It was like grrl power before grrl power was even a real thing and this version had skirt suits and neckerchiefs. Guess what? It still does. And it’s all coming to a stage near you. 9 to 5 The Musical features eleven new songs written by the one and only, Miss Dolly Parton. That’s right, her big-haired stamp of approval is all over this thing and you know what they say, “If it’s good enough for Dolly, it’s good enough for your far less substantial chest.” True story. Get your tickets now at dallassummermusicals.org or dance your little fanny on over to the DSM box office in the Preston Royal Shopping Center. The show runs through May 29 at Music Hall at Fair Park. Unfortunately, Dabney Coleman couldn’t be reached for comment. And if you don’t know who Dabney Colemen is, Google it, you tween.
