We like to eat. Not only do we like to eat, but we like to eat in such a way as to make the body a battleground. We’re talkin’ breakfast tacos and a something-on-a-stick washed down with the first of many large coffees followed with a double-decker sandwich with a side of nachos covered with jalapeños complemented by some nice vanilla ice cream with fruit topping followed by the first of many beers to take the edge off the coffee. Ahhh, there it is, that warm, cozy feeling of lethargy on which we’ve come to rely–pax digestionum. For those wishing to make their own intestimonial, the West End will be something of a mecca when they host the 21st Annual Taste of Dallas. This event features food from more than 40 different DFW restaurants at a fraction of their normal menu prices. Participants include Bangkok City, Buca di Beppo, Dick’s Last Resort, Hoffbrau, Spaghetti Warehouse, Marble Slab Creamery and Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream just to name a few. Fill ‘er up from 11 a.m. to midnight Friday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. Free to the public. To learn more call 214-991-0199 or visit tasteofdallas.org.
