Is your astral projection not quite stellar? Are your chakras out of whack? Do you need a psychic tune up? The Manifestation Celebration might just be what the shaman ordered. Self-described mystics, writers, neo-shaman and musicians gather together in the Dallas Museum of Nature and Science to share their art and ideas as they relate to the New Age philosophy and the self. The event opens and closes with ceremonies by shaman Don Jose Campos and is packed in between with Q&As from authors and experts, live performances of ambient, electronic, and world music and live painting sessions with Alex Grey, Allyson Grey, Michael Garfield and others. In particular, the work of psychedelic and spiritualist artist Alex Grey will be displayed on the 79 foot IMAX screen, adding an even greater sense of scale to his large, otherworldly paintings. Also, the event includes screenings of 2012: Time for Change, an enviro-apocalyptic documentary exploring the end of the Mayan calendar and the dawn of a new age, and the The Spirit Molecule, a documentary exploring the purported mystical effects of the hallucinogenic chemical DMT. The show begins 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $49.50. Call 214-428-5555 or visit manifestationcelebration.com for more information.
