The Pancakes & Booze Art Show – Los Angeles, CA – SEPT.10.2010 from Tom Kirlin on Vimeo.
Pancakes and art are not natural bedfellows, and yet the two keep seducing one another. Local arts/music promotion group Green Bandana brought flapjacks into Dallas’ afterparty scene over the summer, and now another disk-shaped blip has appeared on our carb radar. It’s the awesomely named and nationally touring Pancakes and Booze Art Show, a title which includes every one of my favorite words.
Scheduled to flip its flaps on Friday, January 11th, at Quixotic World, the exhibition/party features underground art by 75 local emerging talents (yet to be named). There will also be live music and visual art created onsite, an all-you-can-eat pancake buffet and body painting, because… well, nekkid.

The show’s been traveling since 2009 and originated in LA, now it drops batter in 13 cities across the country and Dallas is getting its griddle in the mix. Even if you just swing by for the pancakes, you’ll make out like a bandit. It’s only five bucks to get in.
