So many art shows purport to be “immersive,” but they’re really just “engaging.” The art is all around you — you see it, you feel it, you hear it even, but largely the art doesn’t really involve you beyond your viewing of it. PrismCo’s PRISM, on the other hand, is serious truth in advertising. They say it’s immersive, and is it ever. Billed as “movement theatre,” the event features an exploration of the creation of civilization interpreted through three stages: darkness, light and color. Choreographer and visual maestro Jeffrey Colangelo has resurrected the production that launched PrismCo, which culminates in an audience participation event that the dearly departed Jackson Pollack would be proud of. The dress code for the event is “paint war chic” — and the ultimate product goes beyond what you hear and see: the 20-by-20-foot painting that results from the audience participation piece will be displayed in a gallery curated by John Marcucci. Immerse yourself beginning with a preview at 8 p.m. Thursday at The Green Warehouse in Trinity Groves, 2900 Bataan St.; shows run through April 26.
