When LA street artist, DJ, and all-around Rad Dude, Shepard Fairey comes to town, Big D lights up brighter than the Omni Hotel and that crazy bridge, combined. Paired up with the Dallas Contemporary, Fairey is on a good-will mission. His agenda? To put up rockin’ tough murals all over our city. His other agenda? To kick out the jams.
Tonight, after Fairey has dusted Dallas with plaster, poster, and stencil art he’ll take it easy, rent The Help and unwind with a nice, but inexpensive bottle of wine — just kidding. That isn’t how Shepard Fairey re-energizes. Instead he Djs the biggest party in the entire city, Phenomenon at the Dallas Contemporary. The theme is neon-glow-mega-party, so dress with the black lights in mind and be ready to shake your ass in an awesome venue surrounded by exceptional art. It’s a celebration of city beautification, large-scale installation, and stuff that glows in the dark. Yep, it’ll be a blast. Better get your tickets, because this thing will sell out. Tickets cost $50.
