Perennial envelope pushers, the artists/residents of CentralTrak are known for “climbing the walls” in acrobatic feats of cutting-edge art, but this time, they’re planning to tear ’em down. CentralTrak alumna Cassandra Emswiler and incoming resident Sally Glass bring you Sheet/Rock, a joint exhibition springing from the collision and convergence of the artists’ respective practices, through the “creative feedback loop of ideas, photography and friendship the two have shared over the past year.” Appropriating Sheetrock tables as the foundational element, supporting found objects, videos, sculpture and photography, Emswiler and Glass “pull down the gallery walls” for a collaborative work of chaotic harmony. The opening reception is 8 to 10 p.m. Saturday, kicking off a run through August 18. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and by appointment at 800 Exposition Ave. Call 214-824-9302 or visit centraltrak.net for more information.
Sat., July 14, 8-10 p.m.; Saturdays, 12-5 p.m. Starts: July 14. Continues through Aug. 18, 2012
