Recent studies suggest that if your friends are fat, you’re likely to be a porker, too. No wonder. It’s much easier seat six for some tasty apps at Applebee’s than it is to cram them into a doctor’s exam room for some BMI analysis. So load up the whole crew (use a fork lift if you must) and head down to the Share the Health fair sponsored by the Professional Certification Center. People 17 and over can get screened for high blood pressure, heart disease, anemia and more. The fair is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at PCC, 1229 E. Pleasant Run, Suite 216 in DeSoto this Friday. Admission is free. Call 972-224-9800.
Fri., Aug. 3, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
