Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is a fascinating person. That’s a statement that can be fairly made without any political underpinning, and it should be thought-provoking to hear what this woman has to say when she speaks at the University of North Texas Distinguished Lecture Series at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Even if you think she’s the worst of the worst politicians, her ascent from segregated South to Secretary of State is more meaningful than a footnote on a Wiki page. She’s a no-nonsense, feminist lightning rod; a woman who eschewed traditional gender roles, but who is barely acknowledged by the feminist majority due to her political affiliations. Don’t miss the chance to hear her speak at the UNT Coliseum, 600 Avenue D in Denton. Tickets are free for UNT students, and $25 to $50 for the general public.
