For the next month, the area gets a double serving of gallery artist Rusty Scruby‘s fantastic three-dimensional constructions as solo exhibitions open at the McKinney Avenue Contemporary and Pan-American Art Projects. A former student of aerospace engineering and music composition, Scruby’s large-scale installations will be on display in both the large and square galleries at the MAC, while the exhibition at PAAP will present more focused studies that were inspired by the larger pieces at the MAC. The MAC hosts an opening reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at 3120 McKinney Ave., and PAAP will host their opening reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at 1615 Dragon St. Both exhibitions run through February 14. Call 214-522-3303 or visit panamericanart.com or the-mac.org.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Jan. 10. Continues through Feb. 14, 2009
