Those people at The Lodge don’t know when to quit. Exotic dancers washing cars—that’s all you have to say. The geniuses behind Bikini Carwash Companies I and II knew that. Unaided by cinematic crutches like plot and characters, Kristi Ducati’s enormous knockers draped in suds were enough to guarantee the glorious pair of movies a decade of heavy rotation on “Skinemax.” The Lodge is reviving the time-honored tradition to raise money for Operation Kindness, North Texas’ largest no-kill animal shelter, but the club isn’t content to leave well enough alone. No, they’ve got to add motorcycle stunt shows, a raffle featuring a custom chopper and luxury box Rangers tickets, dog grooming and sitting—even Stars player Craig Ludwig is thrown in the mix. Now, none of these are bad things, but compared to watching glistening wet strippers rub down your ride, they rank as distractions at best. Still, it’s a small sacrifice to make for a good cause. The 4th Annual Dog Days of Summer Car and Bike Wash runs from noon and 6 p.m. Saturday at The Lodge, 10530 Spangler Road. Motorcycle stunt shows are at 12:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. A $20 donation earns lunch, the stunt show and a car/bike wash. Call 972-506-9229.
Sat., July 15, 12-6 p.m.
