Adults are sharpening their knives, kids are dragging their parents to Walmart to load up on candy and costumes, and the television seems to be playing a lot of scary movies lately. It only means one thing–Halloween is here! To most people (sane people, that is) the best part of the holiday is showing off your costume and getting candy in return. Not for me, I prefer to pay someone 20 bucks and get the heebie-jeebies scared out of me by chainsaw-wielding werewolf. Screams boasts to be the world’s largest Halloween theme park, offering a variety of frightful adventures. They have five different haunted houses, including a death trap maze where ghosts and ghouls hunt you by your screams. If you need some liquid courage, then stop by The Taboo Tavern, but make sure to eat some Halloween fare at Screams Café first. Screams also offers classic horror movies and karaoke. Wonder if they have “Monster Mash” on the list? Screams Halloween Theme Park (2511 FM 66, Waxahachie) will be open every Friday and Saturday until October 31. For more information, visit ScreamsPark.com.
Fridays, Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.-1:30 a.m. Starts: Oct. 2. Continues through Oct. 31, 2009
